Bulwark: a history of quality
For more than 50 years, Bulwark has manufactured protective clothing certified against ignition hazards. The company created a strong partnership with DuPont to manufacture fire-resistant clothing and soon became rapidly a leader in FR clothing. The Nomex clothing line is the result of this partnership.
During the 80s, Red Kap (now Bulwark) launched fire-resistant cotton clothing with a warranty for the garment’s lifetime. Thus, Bulwark is confident in the efficiency of its FR clothing.
In 2007, Bulwark was the first and only company to offer a work shirt proven as fire-resistant according to the ANSI standard. In addition, this work shirt is exceptionally lightweight, and the Cool Touch fabric keeps the body cool.

The Bulwark iQ Series
The iQ work clothing line is manufactured from Nomex Comfort fabric in partnership with DuPont. The innovation behind this product offers extreme protection as well as superior comfort. The issue with FR clothing is their heavy weight and being made of hot material that does not provide proper breathability. For Bulwark, the iQ Series is the answer to the problem experienced by many industry workers.
Nomex Comfort fabric is lightweight offers optimal breathability. With this last feature, the iQ Series clothing dries very quickly to keep you comfortable even in hot environments. iQ clothing also has large pockets and increased flexibility to facilitate worker mobility.
In 2020, the iQ work clothing line was awarded the prestigious 2020 Innovation Award of the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD). When presenting the prize, the NAUMD stated that “Nomex® Comfort is an innovative FR lightweight CAT 1 comfortable flame-resistant garment collection.
