SPI9/8/2011

SPI is extremely pleased to announce the acquisition of Superior Safety, a Canadian leader in the health and safety and fire protection sector

This acquisition is a major step in the company’s operational activities and its vision of expansion in Canada and internationally. The new entity will generate about $100 million in annual revenue and will have 29 locations, spread out across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec.

Superior Safety, which will continue to operate under its name, has been recognized for nearly 40 years for its occupational health and safety products and services and its complete line of fire-protection products. The company has 13 locations across Canada and 147 employees, including 50 qualified fire-service technicians. As an active member of the NAFED (National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors) the company has, over the years, maintained a range of products and services that are on the cutting edge of current requirements and standards.

“SPI and Superior Safety complement each other with their employees' expertise, branch network, and product and service offering.  Also, Superior Safety is a family-owned business that shares with SPI the same values and commitments to offering its customers the outstanding services they expect. With this acquisition, SPI is completing a major step in its growth plan,” stated SPI president and CEO, Martin Tremblay, who is planning to conduct other major acquisitions in the years to come.

Continuity and expertise at Superior Safety Inc.
