Forestry work can be a rewarding and fulfilling career, but it also comes with its own set of risks and hazards.

Protecting yourself appropriately is one of the most critical aspects of working in the forestry industry. This means wearing the proper protective equipment and taking the necessary precautions to ensure your health and safety on the job.

Can a chainsaw be dangerous for you while working? Yes.

Can injuries be prevented with the right protection? Yes.

Are you about to find out what’s your best option to prevent injuries while working in forestry? Oh yes.

It’s not easy to find a company that understands what it’s like to work hard in the woods and environments where risks may be located behind every tree.

NatPro sheds a bright light on the protection of forest workers with its new collection: Arborius.

Stay tuned; we’ll tell you more about it a little later!

The forestry industry is one of the most dangerous professions in the world. Workers are often exposed to hazards such as falling trees, heavy machinery, and inclement weather conditions.

The chainsaw is one of the most frequently used tools in forestry. While it is essential for cutting down trees and branches, it can also be hazardous if not used properly.

One of the main risks of using a chainsaw is the potential for cuts and leg injuries. When cutting down a tree, branches and other debris can fall on the worker’s legs.

In addition, the chainsaw can kick back and hurt the legs if not held properly. The lower extremities are particularly vulnerable to injury as they are in close proximity to the chainsaw, and it can be challenging to move quickly out of the way.

This is where adequate leg protection comes into play. Leg protection in the form of chainsaw chaps or pants can significantly reduce the risk of leg injuries.

These protective garments are designed to stop the chainsaw chain from penetrating the fabric and injuring the skin. In the event of contact with the chainsaw chain, the protective apparel will wrap around the chainsaw and prevent it from causing further injury.

DID YOU KNOW🧐
Ballistic nylon was first used in clothing design during World War II. The fabric is so strong that in the form of bulletproof vest, it protected soldiers from flying debris and shrapnel.

Ideally, leg protection is made from high-quality materials such as ballistic nylon or Kevlar, which are highly durable and can withstand the power of a chainsaw. They are also designed to be comfortable and breathable, allowing the worker to move freely while providing ample protection.

Leg protection should always be worn when using a chainsaw, even if the job seems simple and straightforward. It only takes a split second for an accident to occur, and it’s essential to be prepared and protected at all times.

In addition to leg protection, other measures can be taken to reduce the risks of using a chainsaw.

Workers should always be adequately trained and certified in using chainsaws and never operate a chainsaw alone. They should also ensure that the chainsaw is well-maintained and in good working condition before each use.

Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, as well as eye and hearing protection should also be worn continuously.

How can Arborius support your health and safety while you are in the forest?

The new collection of pants supports you in many risk areas when using a chainsaw at work.

The fabric used in the pants keeps you dry even in heavy rain thanks to its high-end waterproof treatment. Despite all this, the garment remains very breathable to avoid getting hot or trapping moisture.

You will also benefit from the Avertic protection, specially designed to protect you from the risks associated with the chainsaw.

On top of all these benefits, the pants remain comfortable, elastic and incredibly light! Today, choose from the three colors offered in the new Arborius line!
