Description
The Kosto THKF25 / THKF55 FR Balaclava is designed to keep workers warm and protected in cold industrial environments where arc-flash and flame hazards may be present. Its single-opening design shields the head, neck, and ears while maintaining clear visibility and easy breathing during work. Made from a soft interlock blend of modacrylic, cotton, aramid, polyamide, and antistatic fibers, it offers reliable thermal comfort and inherent flame resistance without added bulk. Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable under safety helmets, this balaclava provides a dependable protective layer for winter operations and electrically classified work zones.
Key Features
Inherent FR interlock fabric: Blend of modacrylic, cotton, aramid, polyamide, and antistatic fibers provides flame-resistant performance without chemical treatments.
Arc-flash rated: Offers CAT 2 protection with ATPV 13 cal/cm² for environments where electrical hazards are present.
Extended neck coverage: Longer neck section adds extra insulation and shields more surface area from wind and cold.
Single-opening design: Protects the head and ears while maintaining full visual field and clear breathing.
Helmet-compatible: Comfortable to wear under safety helmets, including TCK10 models, without restricting movement.
Breathable and stretchable knit: Enhances comfort for long shifts while maintaining a secure fit.
Lightweight thermal layer: Helps retain warmth in cold work environments while reducing bulk under winter PPE.
Intended Use
This FR balaclava is intended for cold-weather work where head and neck insulation must be paired with flame-resistant and arc-flash-rated protection. It serves as a protective underlayer for workers wearing safety helmets in electrically classified or harsh outdoor environments.
Ideal for:
Electrical utilities and power distribution
Oil & gas, petrochemical, and refining sites
Mining, metal processing, and smelter operations
Outdoor construction and industrial maintenance
Technicians working in high winds or sub-zero temperatures
