The 3M™ DBI-SALA® Rollgliss™ R550 Rescue and Descent Device is a fully automatic controlled descent system designed for rescue, evacuation, and assisted rescue applications at height. It allows safe descent from heights up to 1,640 ft (500 m) for a single user up to 310 lbs (141 kg), or up to 575 ft (175 m) for two users totaling 620 lbs (282 kg). In assisted rescue scenarios, a fallen worker can be raised to disconnect their fall protection system before being safely lowered to the ground. A dedicated ladder mounting bracket enables fast, detent-style attachment to ladder rungs, with a built-in adjustment handle to accommodate varying rung spacing.
