SPI Grabs USPAACC-EF 2009 'Fastest 50' Title

Atlanta Outsourcing Company Receives Second Consecutive Award for Growth

ATLANTA - In the wake of a turbulent year for business, SPI's CEO, Sid Mookerji, has done more than weather the storm.

In May, Mookerji traveled to New York City, where he received his second consecutive 50 Fastest-Growing Asian American Businesses award, an honor he accepted from the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC-EF) at its annual business conference, CelebrAsian.

"We were really excited to receive this distinction for 2007," said Mookerji. "In light of the economy over the past months, however, SPI is even more honored to earn it this year."

In good times and in bad, Mookerji has been focused on growth. During an overall slower economy, he and his team have tweaked strategy to capitalize on SPI's expertise within an evolving outsourcing market.

"We've learned how to be an effective extension of our customers' IT departments," said Mookerji. "And even in tougher times, we saw indicators that motivated us to continue pursuing our sweet spot-reducing the cost of IT through exceptional delivery and productivity practices. We took that cue, and we've continued to build."

Over the past three years, SPI has grown to close to 1,000 employees worldwide, acquired a BPO practice and expanded its client base. The company has recognized an increase in specific industry verticals, such as Healthcare and Retail, and has built its team to further accommodate demand.

"We've worked hard from the beginning, and we'll continue to do so," notes Mookerji. "If we're going anywhere, it's up."

Recipients of the USPAACC 50 Fastest-Growing Asian American Businesses award were determined by percentage of revenue growth over a three year period.

SPI adds this merit to its list of national distinctions, including three awards from DiversityBusiness.com for achievement as a top grossing minority and woman-owned company, its first USPAACC 'Fastest 50' honor and a 2008 Top Ten Fastest Growing Companies award from Atlanta Business Magazine.
