SPI Manager Achieves IFPUG Function Point Specialist Certification

On November 3, 2010 a Manager for one of SPI's leading accounts joined an exclusive group comprising holders of the International Function Point User Group's (IFPUG) Certified Function Point Specialist award. The merit, in addition to denoting compliance with the International Organization of Standardization ISO/IEC 14143 - 1:2007, recognizes individuals with a specific level of expertise in Function Point Analysis, specifically in the knowledge and application of IFPUG counting rules.

With a Certified Function Point Specialist on board, the SPI team can more accurately forecast the size, costs and productivity around end-to-end project efforts. Additionally, in a world with multiple technologies per project, a primary advantage to the certification is the ability to measure different technologies through 'apples to apples' comparisons.
