Software Paradigms (India) (SPI), Mysore, has bagged the prestigious CMMI level 5 certification. This is said to be a milestone in the history of software development centre’s quality initiatives.
According to a press statement from the SPI, the company was assessed at level 5 of CMMI based on an assessment carried out Lead Assessor K.K.Raman of KPMG during December 2004-January 2005.
“The scope of the assessment covered software development projects executed at its offshore development centre in Mysore,” he said. The company claimed that the Lead Assessor has found SPI to have “strong process orientation, which is supported by sustained senior management commitment. The company has developed a strong base line through Six Sigma initiatives.”
SPI is the second company in the city after Larson and Tourbo Emsys to have been assessed at this level. “There are only 50 companies in the world which have been assessed at CMMI level 5, and out of this, 30 are in India.”
K.K.Mookerji, Managing Director of SPI, said the CMMI level 5 certification will reassure company’s clients its emphasis on sustained excellence.
